Ken Cloyd

Photo of Ken Cloyd. After attending an ECCE Speakers Series presented by the Project and hearing Kirk Bloodsworth and other exonerees speak about their experiences, in Spring of 2010 Ken enrolled in the Conviction of the Innocent class and was shocked by the number of wrongful convictions that have been documented around the country and internationally.

Driven by a commitment to social justice and wanting to transform his education into direct involvement, he began volunteering for the Project in Spring 2011. Ken completed a yearlong internship with the Project where he helped to identify and investigate wrongful convictions, as well as explore possible legislative reforms to the criminal justice system to help reduce the risk of innocent men and women being imprisoned.

Ken graduated from UIS in Spring 2012 with a double major in Political Science and Legal Studies and is currently at Northern Illinois University College of Law.
