Staff Attorney Lauren Myerscough-Mueller, Bloodsworth DNA Grant
Lauren joined the Illinois Innocence Project (IIP) to work on guilty plea and Latino cases under a Bloodsworth DNA grant. Lauren came to the IIP with experience as a criminal defense attorney in the Chicago area, both as a private attorney and a public defender. She attended the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law where she participated in several clinics and interned for the Cook County Public Defender Homicide Task Force for two years. Prior to law school, Lauren worked for Senator Richard J. Durbin in Washington, DC, including as a research assistant on his Senate Judiciary Subcommittee staff.
