TITLE:  Instructor, Physics

STARTING DATE:  August 16, 2012

DESCRIPTION:  The University of Illinois Springfield seeks applications for a non-tenure-track instructor in physics. UIS offers calculus-based introductory physics for chemistry, pre-med, and other health science majors. The successful candidate must have a minimum of an MS in Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry, or a closely related field completed before August 14, 2012; documented experience teaching introductory calculus-based physics, and a background that demonstrates excellence and continued growth in physics pedagogy. Responsibilities include: teaching introductory calculus-based health science physics (with laboratory) at the undergraduate level, developing a new physical science course with lab for the general education curriculum, and assisting with operation of the campus astronomical observatory. The candidate is expected to meet UIS’ high standards of teaching. Although this position will primarily teach on-ground classes, we encourage applicants who have an interest in online teaching.

CAMPUS: Located in the state capital, the University of Illinois Springfield is one of three campuses of the University of Illinois.
