TITLE: Assistant Professor, History
STARTING DATE: August 16, 2012
DESCRIPTION: The University of Illinois Springfield invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in the History of Colonial and Revolutionary America, beginning August 2012. Area of research specialization within Colonial and Revolutionary America is open, although candidates must be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in area of expertise, historical methods, and contribute to general education. Interest and ability to develop and teach courses in a sub-field in support of the department’s mission is an asset. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, evidence of scholarly potential, willingness to teach online, and ability to work well in a small, collegial department. Teaching load is three courses per term. A Ph.D. in History is required at the time of appointment.
CAMPUS: Located in the state capital, the University of Illinois Springfield is one of three campuses of the University of Illinois.
