Meet our Staff
The Housing and Residential Life staff is available to answer your questions and assist you in making living on campus safe and comfortable. You are encouraged to get to know the housing staff, including:

Resident Assistants (RA’s) are paraprofessional employees of Housing and Residential Life. They undergo a training program to enable them to effectively assist all residents in adapting to life at UIS. A team of RA's reside in each area. RA’s are supervised by the Resident Directors.

Resident Directors (RD's) are professional full-time employees of Housing and Residential Life. The RD's are responsible for the supervision, training and development of the resident assistants. The RD's also manage and maintain the administrative functions of their respective areas, East Apartments, West Apartments and LRH.

Assistant Director
Assistant Director of Housing and Residential Life is responsible for the daily operations of Housing and Residential Life. She is also responsible for the overall coordination of programs in the Homer L. Butler Housing Commons and facilities management. In addition, she manages, monitors, and implements the policies and procedures of student housing.

Director
Director of Housing and Residential Life John Ringle is responsible for the management, supervision, and operation of Housing and Residential Life including the operations of the Housing Office, housing services, maintenance functions, and the id center. He is responsible for monitoring and implementing the policies and procedures of housing as well.
