Pennyroyal, Marigold, Trillium and Foxglove courts include modern, four-bedroom townhouse units featuring an open floor plan, spacious living areas, cathedral style ceilings, and kitchen facilities equipped with a dishwasher.
Clover Court, Bluebell, and Larkspur Court were designed with the needs of upper division and graduate students in mind. All units include carpeted living rooms and bedrooms and full modern kitchens. All units also have two bathrooms. Units designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities are available in all of the complexes.
Both private and shared bedroom assignments are available. Rental costs vary according to the type of accommodation and the level of privacy afforded. The wide variety of living options and range of housing costs allow students to obtain the accommodations which best meet their personal and financial requirements. We recommend students apply early, as many of our spaces are limited.
Every apartment is furnished with a stove and refrigerator, as well as drapes or blinds.
For complete instructions about the apartments and resident behavior, please refer to the Terms and Conditions and Community Handbook for UIS Residence Life found under "forms".

Family Housing is available to students who will be residing with their legal spouse, a domestic partner, and/or legally dependent children. Family residents are assigned to either one or two bedroom apartments and may request furnished or unfurnished apartments. Due to the size of the units, occupancy is limited to no more than three persons in a one bedroom apartment and no more than four persons in a two bedroom apartment. In family housing, one set of keys will be issued to each person signing the contract. Parents may request up to two additional sets of keys to be used by their children over the age of twelve.
Child care is available on campus for toddlers and children from 18 months to 12 years of age, and school buses transport children from campus to the local public schools.

The buildings are three stories high with two student housing wings. Students live in four person suites. A suite consists of two double or private rooms with a shared semi private bath. Each double room is provided with flexible furniture that can be configured with two beds, two desks, and two dressers. The furniture can be stacked as bunk beds or with beds above desks. Homer L. Butler Housing Commons is the hub of residential life. It serves as the social and recreational center for housing residents and it is where the Housing Office is located.
The Housing Commons is the site of many social functions, club meetings, and other activities sponsored by student clubs and organizations. The Housing Commons includes a great room with a fireplace, TV room with a large screen TV and surround sound, and meeting room. Ping-pong, billiards, and a variety of board games are also available in the Housing Commons. Residents and student organizations may reserve the Housing Commons for use.
The Housing Commons may not be reserved for general public or private use, and all activities must be open to all housing residents. Children must be supervised at all times while in the Housing Commons. The complete Housing Commons space use policy is available in the Housing Office.
