Leadership for Life Service Wing

Leadership for Life students at wilderness retreatL4L is a service and leadership community.

The Leadership for Life Service Wing, also known as L4L, is a service and leadership community within Lincoln Residence Hall. Freshmen admitted to L4L live together, take a class together, and commit to doing service together. L4L members focus on service in five core areas including: Civic Engagement, Youth and Education, Sustainability, Public Health, and Hunger and Homelessness. The purpose of the program is to provide a positive environment through which new students can take the first steps toward a lifelong commitment to community involvement. This program is coordinated by the UIS Volunteer and Civic Engagement Center.

How to Apply:

  • Check the "Leadership for Life" Volunteer/Service Wing box on the UIS Housing Application
  • Also, complete the short online application at www.uis.edu/volunteer/servicewing/ .
  • Program admission and housing assignments will be granted on a rolling basis, so please apply early. The deadline for applications is July 31st.
  • Applicants will be contacted to arrange a brief phone interview.
