Family Housing
Current family housing residents or those residents soon needing family housing, will have a simplified process. You will not have to go through the 2nd step, "Select Room". UIS Housing will be pulling your on-line application and either "homesteading" as a current resident. For those that will be entering family housing for the first time, a UIS Housing staff member will contact you about placement. This process will occur prior to the the "group or individual change" process.
Honors Students
All 1st year and 2nd year Capital Scholar Honors' students are required to live in Lincoln Residence Hall and may not be considered for other living accommodations. This does also affect roommate requests since both students living in a room in Lincoln Residence Hall are required to be from the same curriculum (Honors). Students in Lincoln Residence Hall have the option to buy out a private room. Please note that UIS Housing will honor that request as long as space permits.
Pennyroyal Court
Current residents of Pennyroyal Court will not be able to "homestead" for the summer, fall or spring semesters. However, these residents will be able to "homestead" in other friends' apartments. Pennyroyal Court is a special living environment set aside for soon to be sophomores.
Soon to be Sophomores
All soon to be traditional sophomores (non-honors) will have the opportunity to select from either Founders Residence Hall or Pennyroyal Court for their fall 2009-spring 2010 living arrangements. Please note that there are a limited number of spaces in Pennyroyal that may not be able to accommodate all of those sophomores interested in that type of living arrangements. If you are not able to find a space in Pennyroyal Court, your other option will be Founders Residence Hall. Students in Founders Residence Hall have the option to buy out a private room. Please note that UIS Housing will honor that request as long as space permits.
Upperclassmen
Junior, senior, graduate and other transfer students have many different options to choose from in the coming academic year: East Campus Apartments, West Campus Townhouses (except Pennyroyal Court), Founders Residence Hall, & Family Housing (students with a domestic partner, spouse, and/or dependents). In both of the residence halls this fall, students have the option to buy out a private room. Please note that UIS Housing will honor these requests as long as space permits.
