Welcome to UIS Housing!

UIS is one of America's Best Colleges.

Students who reside on campus live in newly-built residence halls or modern apartment-style units. Lincoln Residence Hall and Founders Hall provide housing for traditional first year and second year students and Capital Scholars Honors students.

One, two, and four-bedroom furnished apartments are also available for upperclassmen and graduate students. Plus, we offer family housing for UIS students, their partners, and their dependents.

Housing Contract Deadlines

UIS Housing operates independently from admission to UIS, so students MUST contact the housing office to receive or change their housing contract. Signing a contract with UIS housing is signing a contractual agreement and is legally binding. The contracts dates run from the beginning of the fall semester to the end of the spring semester and a separate contract term for the summer. Contract cancellation deadlines are the last day to cancel or change your contract with out a financial penalty. Prospective Residents may sign up for UIS housing anytime before or after the following dates:

Fall Semester - June 30th - deadline passed
Spring Semester - November 30th
Summer Semester - April 30th
Residents MUST cancel housing contracts before these dates or they will be charged for placement in housing.
Residents MAY sign up for housing after these dates, HOWEVER, if the resident cancels, HE OR SHE will be charged for placement in housing and forfeit the entirety of their deposit.

Housing Space Change Request Deadlines

Every year UIS Housing provides and opportunity for residents to move free of charge to a different location on campus. Students must turn in a completed space change request form (pdf) to their respective areas: LRH Front Desk, Founder's Front Desk, Housing Commons Front Desk, and P20 Office. The space change request form is due by November 30th and approved/denied on availability of space. Determination is based on a first come first serve basis. During the school year, space change request forms are accepted but subject to space availability and at the cost of $75.
