UIS Housing & Residential Life
Welcome to UIS Housing!
UIS is one of America's Best Colleges.
Students who reside on campus live in newly-built residence halls or modern apartment-style units. Lincoln Residence Hall and Founders Hall provide housing for traditional first year and second year students and Capital Scholars Honors students.
One, two, and four-bedroom furnished apartments are also available for upperclassmen and graduate students. Plus, we offer family housing for UIS students, their partners, and their dependents.
Housing Contract Deadlines
UIS Housing operates independently from admission to UIS, so students MUST contact the housing office to receive or change their housing contract. Signing a contract with UIS housing is signing a contractual aggreement and is legally binding. The contracts dates run from the begining of the fall semester to the end of the spring semester and a separate contract term for the summer. Prospective Residents may sign up for UIS housing anytime before or after the following dates:
- Fall Semester - June 30th - deadline passed
- Spring Semester - November 30th
- Summer Semester - April 30th
- Residents MUST cancel housing contracts before these dates or they will be charged for placement in housing.
- Residents MAY sign up for housing after these dates, HOWEVER, if the resident cancels, HE OR SHE will be charged for placement in housing and forfeit the entirety of their deposit.
Living at UIS
Living in a UIS campus community can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your college life. The University of Illinois at Springfield prides itself on many things, perhaps most importantly is our developing sense of a UIS community that is growing on campus each and every day. Much of this begins within the on-campus residence halls and apartments, as they truly become your home away from home. From goofing around with others on your floor or in your court to studying in the lounge until the early hours of the morning, where you live will provide you some of the best and lasting memories of your UIS experience.
Your on-campus residence is much more than a physical structure, it is a community where you can explore differing views, help govern your building and community, and find out the latest by simply walking out your door. It provides the opportunity to relax, socialize, and interact with others in the campus community.
