HDC Program Committee

The Human Development Counseling Program operates under a committee system. The Program has combined the functions of good governance: the executive, the judicial, and the legislative into this one sovereign body known as the Program Committee. This body consists of HDC faculty and two students--one elected Student Program Representative and the Graduate Assistant. The Committee holds its regular meetings on alternate Fridays of the month, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. in Brookens 325. Meetings are open to the university community and Program students are especially welcome. Any Program member may submit an item for inclusion on the agenda no less than four days prior to a meeting. The Program Chair serves as chairperson of the Committee.

Student Representative

Each fall an open election is held to select one Program degree candidate to be Student Representative to the HDC Program Committee for the academic year. The Student Representative participates as a voting member of the Program Committee at all meetings except the session devoted to reviewing student progress. Interested students may nominate themselves the first week of Fall classes. Only degree candidates may run for office. However, all applicants as well as candidates may vote in the election.
