GIS Workshop
The Geographic Information Systems Laboratory is pleased to offer upcoming GIS workshops. The GIS workshop is designed for beginners and is hands-on. Participants will learn the basics of GIS and the use of ArcGIS 9.2.
Lessons include:
- Thematic mapping
- Finding the best locations for your projects
- Address matching and mapping (geocoding)
- Downloading and mapping community data

Poster and map production
The GIS Lab provides support in customized poster/map production for a charge. The laboratory staff can help you generate well-designed maps/posters that meet your specific requirements.
GIS technical support
The GIS Lab provides technical support in the following areas:
- Generate point data based on the GPS or address the customer provides
- Generate polygon, or line features based on CAD files or digitized information
- Digitizing and/or scanning printed maps
- Converting scanned images into geo-referenced digital files
- Georeferencing custom data with existing in-house datasets
- Statistical analysis and spatial modeling
