UIS Forensics is a challenging and fun co-curricular activity. The research, analysis, and revision required make forensicsan academic experience. The people, the tournaments, the practices make forensics a fun experience. You work cooperatively as a team member, learn from others duringcompetition, and support other competitors as they endeavor to grow as communicators. This team is about respect, responsibility, and reflection. You need to be respectful as both a listener and a speaker. You need to be responsible, recognizing that you represent UIS. You need to be reflective as you process the feedback from judges, teammates, and your coach. We have fun on this team. We praise one another’s efforts, improvements, and accomplishments.

Eligibility
All enrolled undergraduates in good academic standing are eligible. There are no "try-outs" and experience is absolutely not necessary. (Some tournaments have novice categories as well.) You practice with the UIS Director of forensics and your teammates regardless of your background.

Travel
For the most part, we travel within Illinois. We drive to some tournaments in the Midwest and will fly to national tournaments (in March and April) as our budget allows. You may travel to two tournaments or you may choose to attend all tournaments (10-15) during the October-April season. Tournament travel may sometimes require missing Friday and/or late afternoon Thursday classes. Your success at UIS is always our first priority and we will do everything to ensure that success. The university pays for your travel, lodging, tournament fees, and food.
