Assistant Director of Radio Information
Services
Salary: $7.75
up to 20 hours per weekJob Description: Reads
various daily and weekly publications for visually or physically
impaired listeners via the sideband of WUIS-FM radio. Does
radio production work as required, including set up and on
air broadcast of all programs scheduled during a work shift.
Ability to operate digital and analog playback and recording
equipment in accordance with daily log, operate the computer
based recording system, prepare and execute daily reading
programs, communicate any recording or play back problems
with the RIS Director and WUIS Manager. Position requires
some special skills and training. Various other duties as
assigned.
Qualifications: Good
clear reading voice with good command of the English language.
In accordance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC), candidate
must be a U.S. citizen. Must be available weekends, evenings,
and/or early mornings.
Radio News Anchor
Salary: $7.75
up to 20 hrs/wkJob Description: Prepare and broadcast newscasts on
WUIS each weekday. Morning newscasts of about eight minutes
are broadcast "live" at 6:31, 7:31, and 8:31 a.m while the afternoon
ones are about five minutes and take place at 4:30p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The afternoon shift will also include hosting the local broadcast of
the NPR program "All Things Considered." The person selected
will also participate in the semi-annual on-air fundraisers and other
station sponsored activities. Other duties as assigned by the
New Director including some occasional reporting assignments.
Qualifications: Professional on-air voice presence.
Computer skills such as basic word processing.
Availability for some weekend and holiday assignments.
Strong interpersonal communication skills. Prior radio news
broadcasting experience, including familiarity with digital
audio recording and editing software programs.
Master Control Operator
Salary: $7.75Job Description: Operate the station's
master control board and continuously monitor the broadcast
signal. Operate digital and analog playback and recording equipment
in accordance with daily log. Prepare and execute station breaks
as per daily log. Understand Emergency Notification System
and and activate as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Experience with or
the ability to learn how to operate broadcast equipment. Good
clear reading voice with an excellent command of the English
language. Available to work weekends. In accordance with Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) guideline the candidate must
be a U.S. Citizen.
Membership Assistant
Salary: $7.75
up to 20 hours per week
Job Description: Assist in preparation for and
culmination of pledge drive including volunteer coordination,
material creation, photography, and mailing premiums and thank
you s. Assist with creating underwriting packets. Tabulate
listener surveys. Assist in event RSVPs. Other
duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Computer skills in basic word
processing. Phone skills. Good English communication
skills are necessary. Good organizational skills.
Ability to write a plus.
Production and Operations Assistant
Salary: $7.75
up to 20 hours per week
Job Description: Record breaks, underwriting spots,
various voice-overs. Maintain website including an update
of the community calendar and music play lists. Other
duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Professional On-Air voice presence.
Computer skills (basic word processing required; website and/or
audio editing experience a plus. Weekend and/or holiday
work may be necessary.
