Computer Lab Consultant
Salary: $7.75Job Description: Work
along with full-time staff in the computer labs and
classrooms with hardware/software problems, database input,
assist in videoconference support as well as perform general
clerical work and general housekeeping responsibilities.
Qualifications: Good
communications skills. Positive customer service attitude. Punctual
and reliable in attendance. Willing to learn new technical
concepts and tasks. Accurate in work. Able to
interact well with other people and work cooperatively with
other student assistants and staff. Familiar with Windows
NT/98/2000/XP, Macintosh OS 9/OS X, Microsoft Office applications,
scanning, printing, digital video/audio editing, and the
Internet. Unix experience desirable.
If chosen at interview, must attend orientation/training sessions before
you will be allowed to work.
Help desk Consultant
Salary: $8.50
Job Description: Provides phone, e-mail,
and walk-in support for University faculty, staff, and students.
Common problems to be solved include email, password resets,
computer virus infections, wireless and software installations, and
general troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess the ability to speak to
people of varying technical expertise in person, over the phone, and
by email. Must be able to work closely with coworkers in a small
office environment. Excellent written and oral communication
skills. Positive attitude towards customer service.
Ability to work with sensitive information in a conscientious manner.
Punctual, responsible, and accountable for actions. Must be
familiar with personal computers.
Tech Support Assistant
Salary: $8.50
Job Description: Assists full and part
time staff with the set-up of audio-visual and computer equipment as
well as assisting with ongoing trouble shooting duties. The job
requires more technical expertise than that of the Help Desk
consultant. May also be asked to provide assistance in computer
labs and classrooms.
Qualifications: Good communication
skills. Positive customer service attitude. Must be
punctual and reliable in attendance. Must be willing to
learn new technical concepts and tasks and be accurate with their
work. Must be able to interact well with others and work
cooperatively with staff and other student assistants. Must be
