Financial Services and Cashier Operations

Student Assistant

Salary: $7.75

Job Description: Assistant to the Coordinator of  Cashier Operations and Customer Service and the USFSCO staff. Under general supervision, assistant will answer phones, screen calls, take messages and refer callers to appropriate person, or department for problem resolution  Sort and open mail.  Photocopy documents, handle sensitive and confidential information per University Policy and procedures.  Assist cashier staff with collection, verification of funds, and processing of large coin deposit for various departments and campus organizations.  Update spreadsheets, assist with procedure reviews and updates, and assist with research requests from various departments.  Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: Must be familiar with general office functions, including, but not limited to, multi-line phone, voice mail, faxing, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and ability to learn other web-based applications.  Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the telephone, to a wide variety of people in a courteous and professional manner per university policy and procedures, as well as, FERPA and other laws.  Banking, retail, or customer contact office experience preferred.  Individual must be motivated, dependable, and available to work 20-25 hours per week, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Background check will be done by a law enforcement agency prior to employment.
