Land of Lincoln Retired Teachers

Two $1000 scholarships are available for college juniors or seniors majoring in education.   Deadline is in July. For an application, please contact Helen Dunn at 546-5794.

Rotary Peace and Conflict Studies Program

Provides round trip travel expenses for those accepted.

A three month certificate program at Chulalongkrom University in Bangkok, Thailand.

Applicants should be Mid-to upper level position professionals with at least five years of work experience in a field related to conflict resolution and mediation.

 Employer is expected to pay tuition, living expenses, educational materials and other expenses (approximately $5,000).

Springfield Civic Garden Club Scholarship

The Springfield Civic Garden Club announces that their Board of Directors has voted to sponsor a $1,000 scholarship for a student pursuing a degree in an environmentally related field, such as conservation, horticulture, botany, landscape design, or turf management.

The deadline for the current school year is May 1, 2008. 

 Central Illinois Chapter of Image, Inc. Scholarship

  $750

Must currently reside in central Illinois and be of Latino background ( one parent must be full Latino or both must be half) with a minimum unweighted grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Must be accepted or currently enrolled in an accredited university, college, or trade school.

Along with the application, student must also submit an official transcript, a letter of recommendation of school letterhead from a school official commenting on academic success and potential, and letter of recommendation from a clergy, teacher or adult club leader describing your community, civic and/or athletic activities. Student should include a list of community, civic, and athletic activities.

Deadline is June 25, 2008

Central Illinois Women's Bar Association Scholarship

$500

Must be a female resident of Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Champaign, Christian, Clark, Coles, Cumberland, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Ford, Greene, Jersey, Livingstone;, Logan, Macon, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan, Moultrie, Piatt, Pike, Sangamon, Schuyler, Scott, Vermilion, or Woodford county. Must be planning to study law or already be enrolled in legal studies. Must have two letters of recommendation-only one may be from a teacher and none from a relative.

Deadline is May 1, 2008.
