Applied Study Term
Applied Study Term (AST) is an individualized field experience that lets undergraduates earn credit while getting practical experience in their majors. You will expand your knowledge and determine what additional learning you may need to excel in your field.
AST credit can be used to meet two of the ECCE categories: Engagement and Elective. Three or six semester hours may be taken to meet the ECCE categories engagement and/or elective with your academic advisor’s permission.
AST credit hours may also fulfill part of the 12 credit UIS Requirement for students with catalogues prior to 2007.
Completing an AST is an excellent addition to your resume. Close discussion between you and your academic advisor will help to ensure that the AST will fulfill your educational needs and career exploration. AST Seminars can be taken online.
