English as a Second LanguageEnglish books and blocks

conversation Partner program

ESL SlideshowThe Conversation Partner Program brings non-native English speakers together with native English speakers. The primary goal of the program is for non-native English speakers to use English more naturally in everyday situations and learn more about American culture. A secondary goal is to foster global citizenship, tolerance, and friendship for all participants.

The ESL Program partners students according to their schedule and, if possible, by shared interests. Students then decide on one hour a week to get together, on or off campus, to have open discussion. This allows students to practice English in a relaxed setting, gain fluency in conversation, and improve knowledge of idioms and slang.
