During the academic year (August through May) ESL courses are offered at the intermediate through advanced levels. These courses are open to all non-native English speakers:
- LNG 091 ESL Reading & Writing
- LNG 092 ESL Speaking & Listening
- LNG 101 ESL Advanced Written & Oral Communication
Class sizes are kept small to ensure individual attention and significant interaction with instructors. Classes are taught by native and native-like English speakers who are experienced ESL instructors.
Note: LNG 091, LNG 092, and LNG 101 are ESL courses that are not a part of the Intensive English Program.
Current UIS students can register for ESL/LNG courses through the course schedule. These are listed under Modern Languages (LNG).
For conditionally admitted international undergraduates these courses count toward full-time student status. However, only LNG 101 counts as university credit.
