Recruitment and Enrollment at UIS
UIS continues to seek ways to recruit and enroll a diverse student
body to provide a rich academic experience for undergraduate and
graduate students on the campus. Our entire campus community plays
a very important role in attracting students to our campus by
participating in one or more of a wide variety of activities that
include visits to high schools, community colleges, and four year
colleges and universities; preview days for Capital Scholars and
transfer students; follow-up contacts via mail, phone, and e-mail;
orientation sessions for Capital Scholars, transfer, and graduate
students, and service on scholarship committees.
Prospective students who visit our campus consistently report that they
are very impressed by our friendly and knowledgeable staff, our
student-centered faculty who are experts in their disciplines, our
technologically-enhanced learning facilities, and our beautiful campus.
These same messages are conveyed by the students who are enrolled at UIS
as well as by our alumni who report a high level of satisfaction with the
quality of the education they received.
Throughout the year, various reports are used to assess the recruitment
efforts of the campus. And, in order to make sure that our students'
educational experiences are of the highest quality, we continuously assess
their progress and satisfaction as students and as alumni.
