This is an exciting time for our program as we update the M.A.! The English Department at the University of Illinois Springfield has “paused” our M.A. admissions for 2012-13 because we are redesigning our curriculum. This means that we are not accepting M.A. applications for AY 2012-13. We expect that we will begin accepting applications again for AY 2014-15.

We continue to accept applications for our Certificate program in Teaching English. This is an 18-hour program in which students take a sequence of five courses intended to prepare individuals for teaching at the post-secondary level, primarily at community colleges or junior colleges. If eventually accepted for our M.A. program, students could petition to apply most of these credits towards the new M.A. program.
