We are a resource for all UIS students, including those that are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning and their supportive allies. As part of the division of Student Affairs, we work closely with other entities in the division to provide the most appropriate service and support to students.
The mission of the LGBTQ Resource Office is to provide education, advocacy, support, mentoring, and space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and allied students. As part of our services, the LGBTQ Resource Office presents educational, cultural and social opportunities for all students to challenge intolerance and promote affirmation in an effort to create a more inclusive and affirming campus climate.
Our LGBTQ Resource Library includes books, newspapers, magazines, films and other educational materials that are available for checkout and perusal in the space. A printer is also available for small print jobs.
The resource office can also be used by students and student groups for meetings and study sessions for times outside our normal office hours. Please email us if you would like to reserve the space for your group (with at least 7 days notice, please).
We welcome your questions about the services and support we provide. Feel free to call, email, or stop by!
