Office of Disability Services Staff

                                       

Suzanne Woods, M.A. - Visiting Director of Disability Services. Susy has a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Women’s Issues from the University of Illinois at Springfield. Susy has extensive professional experiences that includes working with the Coalition of Citizens with Disabilities in Illinois, the Illinois Assistive Technology Program, the Arc of Illinois. Susy also serves as the chair of ISAC (Illinois State Advisory Council on the Education of Children with Disabilities). She is also an adjunct faculty member at UIS.

Kimberly RutherfordKimberly S. Rutherford, B.S. - Kimberly is a Disability Services Specialist for the Office of Disability Services, specializing in learning strategies, at the University of Illinois at Springfield. Kim graduated from Central Michigan University with her BS in Political Science and English. She is working toward her MS in Political Studies. Kim has eight years of experience in the field of Disability Services, and plans to continue her work in the field of disability services after completing her MS. Kim's position involves working closely with faculty members to ensure coordinated support services and testing accommodations for students.

Chrisa PotthastChrisa Potthast, B.A. - Chrisa is a Disability Services Specialist, specializing in Adaptive Technology, at the University of Illinois at Springfield. Chrisa graduated from UIS with a BA in Business Management. She is working toward her MA in Individual Option. Chrisa has seven years of experience in the field of Disability Services, and plans to continue her work after completing her MA. Chrisa's position involves working closely with faculty members to insure coordinated support services and adaptive technology accommodations for students. In addition, she is responsible for training and monitoring students and faculty on Adaptive Technology Software, as well as researching new and developing software for people with disabilities.

Susan Stewart-ReynoldsSusan Stewart-Reynolds - Susan Stewart-Reynolds is the Graduate Assistant for The Office of Disability Services.  Sue received her B.A. in Psychology from The University of Illinois at Springfield in May 2007. Sue is currently enrolled full time in the HMS (Master’s in Human Services) program at UIS. Sue’s responsibilities in ODS include intake of documentation, community and campus outreach, and student and staff support. Additionally, Sue serves ODS as Writing Specialist and assists students with writing and citation issues.
