Confidentiality
Confidentiality is an extremely important part of working with students
with disabilities. ODS is committed to maintaining the confidentiality
of both current and former students with disabilities.
As a general rule, all information regarding a student's disability is confidential. This rule applies to all information regardless of its source--the
students, faculty, ODS staff, or other involved parties. Students with disabilities can sign a Release of Information Waiver giving ODS permission to discuss the disability with faculty, parents, significant others, coaches, and/or advisers who require
further information. Information will not be released without consent unless required by federal or state law.
