Classroom Accommodations

Reasonable accommodations are available for students who have a documented disability. Please notify the instructor during the first week of class of any accommodations needed for the course. Late notification may cause the requested accommodations to be unavailable. All accommodations must be approved through the Office of Disability Services (ODS) (217-206-6666) in the Human Resource Building Room 80.

Accommodations - are alterations to the environment or in the way information is presented so it is accessible, or available in an effective manner, for people with disabilities.

Disabilities - According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, disability (in part) is defined as a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities of an individual.
Note:  When searching this site, it is important to remember that some people with disabilities have dual diagnoses. Also keep in mind that the accommodations listed are not all-inclusive. Accommodations need to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, in the Office of Disability Services, evaluating the person's ability and previous accommodation history.
