Joe has been with the UIS Office of Development since
February 2006. His primary responsibilities are focused on building
relationships and securing major gifts for the UIS College of
Business and Management. He also serves UIS as the director of major
gifts for Sangamon Auditorium and Brookens Library. In collaboration
with the University of Illinois Foundation (UIF), Joe facilitates
opportunities for individual alumni and friends of UIS to achieve
their philanthropic goals through their generous support.
Joe brings with him a depth of experience in
development, education, consulting, administration, and public
relations. He served as a Lutheran minister for over twenty-five
years, and successfully led large capital campaigns to renovate and
update existing buildings, provide accessibility modifications, and
new construction, including one in which he helped secure gifts and
pledges for a new $1 million facility.
A native of New Orleans, Joe earned the Bachelor of
Arts with Distinction in history from Concordia College in Ft.
Wayne, Indiana, the Master of Divinity from the Lutheran School of
Theology at Chicago, and a doctorate in homiletics through the
Association of Chicago Theological Schools. He is a member of Phi
Alpha Theta history honor society, the Council for the Advancement
and Support of Education (CASE), the Association of Fund Raising
Professionals (AFP), and is affiliated with the Development
Professionals Affinity Group of the Association to Advance
Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Academic Library
Advancement Development Network (ALADN).
Joe and his wife, Deborah A. Case, make their home in
Springfield. They have four adult children all of whom live in
Illinois. |
