One of the University's Most Flexible Gift Funds Donate
What does the UIS Fund support?
The UIS Fund is an “unrestricted fund." This means that your gifts to the UIS Fund can be used throughout UIS to meet unforeseen needs that could not be planned or
budgeted for, and to respond quickly to unexpected--and often wonderful--opportunities to enhance our students' experience at UIS.
Thank you so much for the flexibility your gifts provide!
Some Examples of How Your Gifts Have Helped
- Science Symposium: We used UIS Fund gifts to help the 2009 Science Research Symposium, an annual event that allows students and faculty to present research, listen to renowned speakers, and network with other scientists.
- Off-campus events: Last year, the UIS Fund helped the Career Development Center send students to career fairs held off-campus.
- Scholarships: The UIS Fund also provides scholarships, like the one for Ryan Roth, political science student. Sarah Dauphinais is one of the donors who gave to the scholarship fund that help Ryan attend UIS.
- Special opportunities or needs : Sometimes these are special opportunities like a piece of scientific equipment that has become available at a reduced price, a chance for a student to present at a conference, an event like Lincoln’s Bicentennial, or an emergency need from a student.
Do my gifts really make a difference?
Yes. Absolutely.
Your contributions to the UIS Fund do truly help to advance UIS. Every dollar we receive is used carefully and with great deliberation to improve and enhance the educational experiences of current and future UIS students.
