You can add your gift to any general fund at UIS (most departments and programs have such a fund); this fund usually provides unrestricted fund to the department or program.
An endowment is a self-renewing resource that the University of Illinois at Springfield holds in perpetuity (forever) and does not spend. Instead, endowed gifts are invested.
