Designated Funds

You Get to Choose

At UIS, we encourage you to give to your interest, your choice. Giving to a designated fund means you are doing just that--choose where you want your gift to go.

Within the section at left entitled Giving Opportunities, we have described many places where you can give, making it possible for you to drill down to the actual fund which supports the program in which you're interested.

So you have $50 to give...

You can decide for yourself where you want that gift to go--

  • Every department has a fund.
If you graduated from the chemistry department, you can choose to give your $50 to the Chemistry Department Fund. Or the Public Health department. Or the Teacher Leadership Department...as do they all.
  • Most programs have a fund.
If you want to give to the Downstate Illinois Innocence Project, you can do that. Or the Students Allied for a Greener Earth (SAGE). Or Women's Center. Or the Visual Arts Gallery.
  • Many initiatives have their own funds.
The Sangamon Auditorium has a fund for the Development of New Works. Brookens has a fund for providing more common spaces for people in the library. The College of Public Affairs and Administration has a fund for a public forum series.
  • And then of course we have many scholarship funds.
You can give to departmental scholarship funds, athletic team scholarship funds, and any of our named scholarship funds. All will benefit from your added gifts.

Take a leisurely browse...

If you know the kind program you would like to support, you can browse through our giving opportunities. We have organized these according to college and department, listing all the funds for the Political Science department, for example, along with all the scholarships that have been designated for political science students.

You can also...

  • use the link at left to email us with a description of the kind of program you would like to support and we'll send you back some options,
  • call us at 217.206.6058 with a question, or
  • contact one of our gift officers.

Of course, if you know the name of the fund you would like to give to, you can use the Give Now button at left to give safely online, or you can send us your gift by mail.
