Current-USE gifts

Immediate Support

Also known as outright gifts, current-use gifts provide immediate financial benefits to the University. Some current-use gifts, such as a named scholarship, require a fund agreement.

When Charles and Kathleen Hoogland funded the TRAC's Hoogland Atrium, at right, their giving involved a fund agreement.

The Hoogland AtriumOther current-use gifts require nothing more than a quick online gift or a check in the mail. These include gifts given:

  • To the UIS Fund: Provide much-needed dollars for wide-ranging initiatives.
  • To a designated fund for a specific purpose: Gifts allocated by you for a specific purpose.
  • As an unrestricted gift : Gifts given without any designated use--Often considered the most powerful form of private support.
