UIS has many scholarship funds. Some go to students within certain departments, some within certain programs, some to students from a specific background or geographic region or some other criteria.
Some are current use scholarships. This means the scholarship amount gets awarded in its entirety every year. Others are endowed scholarships. This means they don't get awarded at all until they reach a minimum threshhold, and then money from the interest gets awarded every year after that.
Whatever the kind, whomever the scholarship goes to, you can add your gift of any size to the fund as an annual gift. Your money will make current-use scholarships a little bit larger. Your money will make the principle of endowed scholarships larger, either helping the endowed scholarship reach its threshold faster or adding to the amount of the scholarship award.
Are you a writer? We have a scholarship that goes to writers.
Are you a lawyer? We have a scholarship that goes to students planning to enter the law.
Are you a public affairs reporter? We have scholarships for PAR students.
We have lots of options. You can investigate all of them by using the Giving Opportunities link at left.
Of course, you can always take a faster route to the fund of your choice by contacting our office directly by calling 217.206.6058 or by using the Send Us Your Question link at left. We'll be happy to hear from you.
