At UIS, our students understand public concerns, civic responsibility, and social justice. This understanding is our driving purpose.
When students go to law school, they take this understanding of the public interest with them, becoming lawyers who are first citizens.
You can support their preparation at UIS by contributing to the Center. Please make a note in the Comment Box to indicate your desire to support the Pre-Law Center. Donate
Professional Preparation
We need more lawyers like these, so we want to improve the Pre-Law Center, which helps UIS students interested in legal or law-related careers. The Center needs
- legal materials,
- law school admission test review materials and courses,
- legal software,
- law-related workshops,
- support for two annual workshops,
- a test preparation course, and
- a graduate assistant’s salary and tuition waiver.
An Ideal Solution
An endowment would be the ideal solution. This fund never gets spent. Instead the fund is invested and money from the interest is used for Center’s programs and services.
If you give this fund, you can name it for yourself or for someone you would like to honor. We know this at least—future generations of UIS graduates will thank you.
