We have three ways that we will upgrade our sound:

Digital Conversion:

WUIS will offer several channels with more programs via digital receiver; the sound quality will be superb and more information about programs will be visible on the user’s display.

Second Channel:

WUIS will launch a second channel on HD targeted to a younger demographic, which will offer UIS students training opportunities.

Auxiliary Tower:

WUIS’ signal travels to its primary tower in Mechanicsburg through a smaller tower on the roof of the WUIS studios. The smaller tower, only 35 feet tall, is now blocked by trees; moisture on the leaves causes interruptions. A 100-foot tower will create an uninterrupted signal between the two towers.
