On November 12, 2009, students from Legal Studies 202, a sophomore-level class, met at Courthouse 5D in the Sangamon County Complex to take part in a mock trial.
As you watch the slide show, notice how engaged the students are, how intently they are listening, and how much they are undoubtedly learning. Experiences like these celebrate the best that UIS has to offer students--and your gifts help the Legal Studies Department continue to provide them.
As Professor Suzanne Borland says:
"That's what makes UIS special. Our classes are small. The professors know the students, so we can do these kinds of fun things. If they were in a huge university class, do you think their class of 500 could take a field trip. Those are the types of experiences that UIS professors can provide to students."
