Museums and libraries around the country have caught onto a wonderful idea: traveling exhibits.
The Smithsonian alone has 41 traveling exhibits on such varied topics as
We want to bring fabulous exhibits like these to our UIS students and community and then involve
other departments in the programming opportunities that the exhibit affords.
With an exhibit on Queen Elizabeth I, for example, the UIS Theater Program might put on an Elizabethan play, the History Department might offer special lectures on women during the Elizabethan Age, and the English Department might schedule a reading of Elizabethan poetry. We would add our special exhibit to this wonderful mix, creating a strong impact for our students.
We have no place in the library to host these exhibits, which understandably require a certain degree of security. We will have a place following renovation.
The Meet Our Gift Officer link at left will introduce you to Joseph Hughes, who works on behalf of Brookens Library. He will be happy to respond to your questions. You can also use the Send Us Your Question link or contact our office directly.
We'd love to hear your story.
