HOW FRIENDS HAVE HELPED...

Just look at what Friends have helped to make possible in the library:

  • ”special places” throughout the library,
  • larger browsing collections, including audio-books and dvd’s,and
  • events that bring significant writers and scholars like Robert Bly, Richard Peck and Vernon Burton to the UIS campus.
  • Mary Jane’s, a wi-fi cafĂ© on level one of Brookens

Two patrons outside Brookens LibraryAs a Friend, you will receive the satisfaction of belonging to an organization that enhances the vibrant intellectual life of a great university.

AND IN RETURN...

As a Friend of Brookens Library, you'll recieve

  • invitations to lectures and programs including the annual Friends-only membership event,
  • borrowing privileges,
  • a twice-yearly newsletter
  • and the satisfaction of belonging to a group of wonderful book-loving people.

Remember, if your annual support is at the Carl Sandburg Circle level ($2500 or greater), you will automatically become a member of the Chancellor’s Circle, gaining the additional distinction and recognition of being among UIS’ most generous annual donors.
