The Studio Theatre has the following needs. If you are interested in making a major gift to meet all or a great part of one of these needs, please contact Joseph Hughes, the Auditorium's gift officer.
But you can also make smaller gifts toward meeting these needs. Your money will go into a fund to meet these needs, and with other gifts like yours, the needs will be met. You can safely make these smaller gifts on line or through the mail.
New Seating
One of the great strengths of the Studio Theatre is its flexibility. With the growth of the Theatre and Music Programs at UIS and the other events now utilizing the space, it would be helpful to have a more versatile seating system to accommodate these different events.
Theatre Scene Shop, Green Room, and Maintenance
Upgrading spaces near the Studio Theatre would allow us to use the Studio Theatre more efficiently and safely as a classroom, a rehearsal space, and a performance space.
- The Scene Shop ventilation system needs to be upgraded, including installation of a dust collection system.
- The Green Room will provide a space for students who are working on theater productions and for performers who generally congregate there after dressing and makeup, prior to their appearance on stage.
- Shop tools and equipment require regular replacement or maintenance.
