The current, original floor is well past its prime, has suffered water damage several times, and is becoming a problem to performers and a headache to maintain. If resources permit, the new floor will be a true sprung floor, making it more suitable for dance.
Some of the fly system pipes are bent and cannot be leveled. They must be replaced and properly rigged so they function effectively. Plans include lengthening the pipes to help eliminate sightline problems.
The first rule of rigging is “Never let anything fall.” For this reason, we continue to replace all stage hardware with rated hardware.
The red front curtain has been damaged by water twice and is in need of replacement. The damage has weakened the material, and it is easily torn. We suggest that it be replaced with the UIS blue.
These draperies are old and torn and losing their usefulness. They need to be replaced to assure that we maintain the highest production values possible while adding flexibility in production design.
