Testimonial“I love this place. It’s a Springfield treasure. Once you go to an event at Sangamon Auditorium, you’re spoiled. Now when I go somewhere else, I say, ‘Gee, why can’t this be as good as Sangamon Auditorium?’”
Bob Murray, WTAX Morning News Watch Host, remembers going to his first show at the Sangamon Auditorium. “I surprised my wife with tickets to Cats. She was thrilled.”
Since that time, Bob and his wife have enjoyed going to as many Broadway shows as possible. More recently, he was able to be master of ceremonies when the Kingston Trio came to Town.
His review? “Fabulous!”
As both a television and radio personality, Bob understands the importance of the Auditorium’s good acoustics. He says, “You can go for miles and miles before you can find another place this great. I can stand on stage and whisper, and I know the people in the back row are going to hear me.”
Sangamon Auditorium is very special to me because of the fantastic entertainment it attracts to Springfield. We are very fortunate that we don't have to drive to Chicago or St. Louis to enjoy musicals, comedies, and drama.
Sangamon Auditorium has provided me with countless nights of laughs, tears, and excitement.
I appreciate Sangamon Auditorium as a culturally rich option of Springfield's nightlife, and that's why I've become a Friend--to support their continuing efforts to provide entertainment to the area. I can only hope others in our community recognize what a truly amazing opportunity Sangamon Auditorium provides us.
