Dr. Larry Golden, Emeritus Professor of Political Studies and Legal Studies at UIS, remembers sitting in a little auditorium in San Diego in 2001, hearing the stories of people who had been exonerated. They said, "If it weren't for the work you did, I would have been put to death by now." These stories took Larry's commitment to the Illinois Innocence Project to the next level. Today, in honor of Larry's labor, passion, and drive on behalf of the wrongfully convicted, a new endowed fund has been created: The Dr. Larry Golden Illinois Innocence Project Fund. Gifts to this fund will help to create scholarships for students working on the Project and help with expenses. Donate

Global Experience ProgramsAs summer approaches, it's time to think about the many UIS students studying abroad in the coming months. Your gift of any size contributes to the huge changes that occur in a student's life as a result of experiences overseas. While studying abroad, students learn about themselves and their own and other cultures. They also acquire skills that offer real competitive advantages in their coming careers.
So many come back with an increased gratitude for what the United States offers them and a new determination to make life better for those they come in contact with. Please give! For general support, please use the donate button below. Donate
