The James J. Pancrazio Scholarship Fund Now Endowed
For 27 years, Jim Pancrazio taught in the Human Development Counseling (HDC) program at UIS (under the name Sangamon State University through most of his years).
Jim was a Founding Faculty Member of the university and, according to his wife, Sally, he would not have wanted to teach anywhere else: “He loved it here.”
Sally Pancrazio and her sons have now funded an endowed scholarship at UIS in Jim’s memory. Their contributions have been increased through the contributions of many, many of Jim’s former students, and well as colleagues, friends, and other family members who also wanted to honor this beloved professor.

Honor Dr. Stephen Schwark at His Retirement
Dr. Steve Schwark, professor in the UIS Global Studies Department and Director of International Studies, is retiring soon. During his many years, he has had a transformational impact on UIS in a global setting.
We are asking friends, former students, and others to join with us in recognizing and honoring Steve at this time by contributing to a special fund named for him. This fund, the Dr. Stephen J. Schwark China Exchange Program Fund, will provide support for travel and other expenses incurred by Chinese faculty members visiting UIS.
Please send your gift to the new Dr. Stephen J. Schwark China Exchange Program Fund, either by using the Donate button below or by sending your gift to the UIS Office of Development. Thank you!
Joan Buckles Retiring Soon–Work With Us to Honor Her
Joan Buckles heads up the grounds crew at UIS. For 23 years, she has supervised a crew of 11 workers who keep our gardens, lawns, trees and shrubs looking beautiful in the warmer months, remove snow in the winter, and set up outside events.
She will be retiring soon. In lieu of a recognition celebration, Joan has agreed to allow the campus to plant a tree in her honor.
If you would like to join in honoring Joan, please make a gift using the Donate button below. When you do so, please scroll down and make a note in the Special Instructions box informing us that your gift is for Joan’s tree and commemorative marker. Thank you!
