2008 Scholarship Luncheon Theme

Bridges to Brilliance

Our very talented student worker, Gwenda Sutton (pictured at left) gave us our theme for the 2008 Scholarship Luncheon: Bridges.

Herself a recipient of the Rosie Richmond Scholarship, Gwenda designed the program, complete with a poem which she wrote:

"From Here to There"

The difference between Here and There?
a single letter T:
pillar with overpass;
you to me.

"There" impels "Here,"
always beckoning;
"There" spans life's chasms
while challenging
"Here" to cross over,
and perpetually
transforms "Now"
into Opportunity.

"Here" makes it "There"
and T makes the difference;
the bridge that connects
potential to brilliance.
