UIS 2008 Scholarship Luncheon

Bridges to Excellence

On Thursday, November 6, 2008, over 200 people gathered in the Sangamon Auditorium Lobby for the annual Scholarship Luncheon. This year's theme, created by Gwenda Sutton, was Bridges to Excellence (follow link to read special poem).

Vicki Megginsion, Associate Chancellor for Development and Senior Vice-President for the University of Illinois Foundation, warmly welcomed everyone to the event, which is always one of the happiest of the year at UIS.

Then, following a homey turkey-and-dressing meal, the Chancellor gave his welcome and then introduced our two speakers:
