Walt Putnick Memorial Scholarship (Accountancy)

Walter M. Putnick passed away May 6, 1995.  He was a long-time member of the Sangamon State University Alumni Board of Directors.  Mr. Putnick lived in Springfield for a major portion of his life and earned an accounting degree from the University of Illinois, and a master's degree in public administration from Sangamon State (now UIS).  He was employed but he Internal Revenue Service from 1948 until he retired in 1975.  The net income from this fund awards a scholarship to either entering or currently enrolled undergraduate accountancy student who has clearly defined career goals and leadership ability.
