Student Research
At UIS, we want to give students everypossibility
to put hands to their learning. In the sciences and social science fields, this is particularly important, and we have several funds that specifically target this initiatives.
Theater and Visual Arts Facilities
Our arts programs have been growing dramatically over the last few years, but we need practice facilities, instruments, and even better performance facilities. Therkildsen Field Station at Emiquon
UIS now has its own field station, located at the site of The Nature Conservancy's restoration of the floodplain along a reach of the Illinois River. Named for Alfred and Barbara Therkildsen, the field station givs students a living laboratory for biological and environmental research.
