Excellence costs money.
To attract the best faculty, who provide educational depth and breadth, to provide a broad range of services, to enrich students' lives and broaden their perspective on life and understanding of the world--all of this is expensive. Gifts from donors like you are helping to create and enhance that excellence.

Operating costs exceed state funding.
State funding is now providing less than 20 percent of the university's budget. That's down from nearly 50 percent in the early 1980s. We are committed to maintaining--and even improving--the excellence of the education we offer our students.

Tuition does not cover the cost of an education.
Yes, we know tuition keeps rising--but never enough to cover costs. The true cost of a university education is almost twice the amount charged as tuition. Gifts from donors such as yourself are essential to make up that difference.

Your gifts help make dreams come true.
Education expands the landscape of a student's thinking, expanding the life that is available to them. Your gifts can open that wider landscape for not just your own son or daughter but for other students whose parents might not be able to give them those chances.
