Cathy snopko, Office Administrator

Cathy Snopko, Office AdministratorWhat I Do
My primary role is as primary assistant to Vicki Meggnson, the Associate Chancellor for Development/Senior Vice President of the University of Illinois Foundation.  I do anything I can to make her time and responsibilities go more smoothly.

I also coordinate the office support for the Development Office, which mean managing and supervising the clerical staff and student workers, making sure everyone does the most important work first and stays productive and attentive.

When you give a gift, I’m the one who processes the gifs, and I provide gift information and answer questions that any of our donors or campus personnel have about gift processing.  If you have any questions about your gift (thank you for supporting UIS!), please feel free to contact me.

As part of my job, I also review and monitor office accounts and fiscal transactions in coordination with Teresa Szabo, the Associate Director of Business and Stewardship, to make sure that we are maintaining financial controls.

I’ve been with the Office of Development since December 1999.

Past Jobs
I worked at St. Isidore’s School in Farmersville for almost 10 years. Once, along with some other members of the staff, I dressed up as a nun and performed “I Will Follow Him”  from the movie Sister Act.  The students and parents went into shock! I have also worked at the Illinois Department of Revenue and at Stouffer Foods in Cleveland, where the other employees and I enjoyed free lunches (production mistakes).  My first job was with the now closed Sangamo Electric Company on the north side of Springfield.

Personal
In my spare time, I love getting on the floor and playing with my grandson.  I also read, cross stitch, and take day trips with my husband, Mike.  I have two grown children, my one grandson, three dogs, and a cat.  Some of my adventures include snow skiing in Switzerland, wandering the museums in Vienna, Austria, and driving up Pike’s Peak.
