Spread the word about Illinois Springfield with Add This

Brandy Stabler, Development Assistant for Sangamon Auditorium

What I Do
My primary function is to manage the fundraising efforts for Sangamon Auditorium.  It’s my goal to make sure individuals and businesses in the Springfield community are informed of their opportunities to support performing arts through Sangamon Auditorium, and feel good about their experience after a gift is made.

If you have any questions about a previous gift, or about how you can make a contribution, I would be happy to speak with you.

I am a part-time employee of the University and am generally in the office from 10am--2pm Monday through Friday.

Why I Do It
I have always had an interest in performing arts. In high school my activities included the plays, musicals, show choir, choir, and band. I entered college at Millikin University as a theatre major, but graduated with a degree in Communication.

I recently began looking for a part-time position in an effort to be at home with my children as much as possible. I was thrilled to find a position that would accommodate that schedule and allow me to give back to something I feel no community should be without--

the ability to experience the joy of performing arts.

Work History
For the first 2-½ years immediately after graduating from college, I worked as a sales representative for WNNS/WMAY/WQLZ Radio here in the Springfield area.

I then came to the University of Illinois at Springfield for the first time as the Director of Marketing and Public Affairs for WUIS Public Radio. I was there for 4-½ years before deciding to stay home full time with our then 2-year-old daughter.

For 5 years I was a full-time stay home mom, and a consultant for PartyLite. In 2007, I decided to re-enter the work force on a part-time basis. I was thrilled to be able to come back to UIS in the position I currently hold.

Personal
My husband, Nick, and I have two beautiful children, a daughter who is 8, and a son who is 2. We have three cats and some fish. I am a co-leader for our daughter’s Girl Scout troop, and Parent-Teacher Liaison at her school. I also serve on the Staff-Parish Relations Committee at my church. Most of my leisure time is spent playing with my children-- however, I have a passion for baking, and enjoy backyard bird feeding.
