Donor Recognition

At UIS and the University of Illinois Foundation, stewardship is the process by which we seek to be worthy of your continued philanthropic support. The goal of stewardship is to reaffirm the University’s appreciation to donors for their generous and continued support. It plays an important role in communicating to donors about the impact of their gifts.

We do this by:

  • Timely and accurate acknowledgment and reporting of gifts
  • Appropriate donor recognition
  • Adherence to donor intent
  • Prudent investment of donations
  • Effective and efficient use of funds
  • Coordination of major donor pledges, including confirmation and reminders as requested
  • Coordination of donor matching gift program(s)
  • Preparation of gift receipts for tax purposes
  • Honorary memorial notification as needed or requested
Here are some donor recognition levels available to donors:

Presidents Council

The Presidents Council of the University of Illinois Foundation recognizes individuals who provide significant financial support to the University of Illinois.  Established in 1964, this donor recognition program, developed and administered by the U of I Foundation, was named in tribute to the chief executives who have guided the University to the highest levels of quality for over 135 years. 

Levels of Recognition

Consular Circle:  $50,000 - $99,999

Centuria Circle:  $100,000 - $499,999

Laureate Circles:

$1 Million Laureate Circle

-- The Gateway, Honored Position

 

$5 Million Principal Circle

-- Preeminent, Unequaled

 

$10 Million Pinnacle Circle

-- Point of Achievement
