On Campus Workshops
We offer on campus workshops for any UIS class. Instructors can request in-class workshops either to introduce the CTL and its services or to cover writing-related content. To set up a workshop, please contact your program’s Liaison.
Online Workshops
We offer online workshops to all current UIS students. We conduct online workshops using Blackboard Collaborate software. The online workshop will consist of a brief lesson, discussion, and then practice of the topic. Students are encourage to bring questions they can ask following the lesson portion of the workshop.
**Our workshops are recorded to allow other students unable to meet during the workshop to learn about the topics covered – should you have any issues with this policy, please contact us at ctlwrite@uis.edu**
Pre-registration: Online workshops require pre-registration at least one day prior to the workshop date. Students can register for the workshop by sending an e-mail with the workshop’s title, date, and time to ctlwrite@uis.edu.
Following registration: students will receive an email with a link to the online classroom prior to the workshop. To prepare, please ensure you have Java updated, and that you have working headphones and/or speakers to be able to hear the presentation. Microphones are optional, should you desire to ask questions aloud during the session.
After you participate in an online workshop, we’d appreciate if you could complete a brief six-question survey. Click here to begin survey.
